Riverhead Charter SchoolPosition Summary:Riverhead Charter School seeks passionate and dedicated Teachers to join our dynamic team and work with students in grades 3-6. We are looking for educators committed to creating a rigorous and supportive learning environment where every child can succeed academically and personally. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of elementary and middle school curriculum, a student-centered approach to teaching, and a collaborative spirit.Key Responsibilities:Instructional Excellence:Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and standards-based lessons in core subjects (e.g., ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies).Differentiate instruction to meet students' diverse academic needs and learning styles in a mixed-ability classroom.Use data to inform and adjust instructional practices to maximize student learning and growth.Integrate technology and other resources to enhance student engagement and understanding.Classroom Management & Culture:Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and respectful classroom environment that fosters a love of learning.Implement a school-wide system of classroom management and positive behavioral supports.Build strong relationships with students, their families, and colleagues.Assessment & Communication:Administer various assessments to monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.I'd like you to maintain accurate student grades, attendance, and development records.Communicate effectively and regularly with parents/guardians about student academic progress and well-being.Collaboration & Professional Growth:Collaborate with grade-level teams and other staff to plan curriculum, share best practices, and support school-wide initiatives.Participate in professional development opportunities, faculty meetings, and school events.Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.Qualifications:Required:Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.New York State Teaching Certification (either in Elementary Education or a relevant subject area for grades 3-6).Demonstrated experience working with elementary or middle school students.Strong knowledge of the NYS learning standards and effective pedagogical strategies.Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.Preferred:Master's degree in Education or a related field.Experience working in a charter school setting.A track record of success in raising student achievement.Riverhead Charter School is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
