Job Title: ENL Teacher Certification Required: English as a New Language (ENL) Location: Riverhead Charter School Start Date: September 1, 2025Job Description: The Riverhead Charter School seeks a highly motivated and dedicated ENL Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engaging and effective English as a New Language instruction to students in grades K-8. This role requires a passion for working with diverse learners, a strong understanding of language acquisition theories, and creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.Responsibilities:Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans aligned with NYS Next Generation Learning Standards and best practices for ENL instruction.Assess students' English language proficiency and academic progress using formative and summative assessments.Collaborate with general education teachers to integrate ENL strategies and support English Language Learners (ELLs) across content areas.Provide push-in and pull-out services to meet the individualized needs of ELLs.I'd like you to maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and communication with families.Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administration regarding student growth and challenges.Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with ENL best practices and regulations.Foster a positive, culturally responsive, inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity.Adhere to all school policies and procedures.Qualifications:Valid New York State Certification in English as a New Language (ENL).Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.Prior experience working with English Language Learners in a K-8 setting is preferred.Strong knowledge of NYS Learning Standards and language acquisition theories.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.Proficiency in educational technology.
