We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of New York State Science Standards and a proven ability to create engaging and effective learning experiences for diverse learners. This teacher will be responsible for instructing students in grades 6-8 in various scientific disciplines, potentially including Earth Science, Life Science, and Physical Science.Responsibilities:Design and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with New York State standards and the school's curriculum.Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that fosters scientific inquiry and critical thinking.Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to differentiate instruction and meet the needs of all learners.Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, including projects, experiments, and tests.Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents/guardians.Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve curriculum and instructional practices.Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in science education.Supervise students in classroom, laboratory, and field trip settings.Uphold the school's mission and values in all interactions with students, families, and colleagues.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field (required).Valid New York State teaching certification in Middle School Science (required).Experience teaching science at the middle school level (preferred).Strong understanding of scientific concepts and principles.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families.Passion for teaching and commitment to student success.Benefits:Competitive salary and benefits package.Supportive and collaborative work environment.Opportunities for professional development and growth.Riverhead Charter School is an equal opportunity employer.
