Variety Child Learning Center (VCLC) is a private, not-for-profit 4410 organization dedicated to supporting young children with special needs and their families.Position SummaryVCLC is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will deliver individualized instruction aligned with each student’s IEP, promote social-emotional and academic development, and provide leadership and mentorship to classroom staff.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement specialized instruction and lesson plans aligned with students’ IEP goals.Review and maintain IEP compliance and ensure all staff understand individual goals.Utilize research-based strategies and positive behavior supports (such as the Pyramid Model) to foster engagement and social-emotional growth.Create and maintain an inclusive, well-managed classroom environment.Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.Mentor and supervise classroom staff, including teacher assistants and interns.Prepare quarterly progress reports and annual reviews in accordance with timelines.Collaborate with team members and families to support transitions between CPSE and CSE systems.Participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and professional development sessions.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s Degree required, master’s degree preferredCertification: New York State Students with Disabilities (Birth–Grade 2) Initial or All GradesExperience:Experience with young children in special education settings preferred.ABA experience a plus (training provided).Work ScheduleFull-time, Monday–Friday 8:00am–3:30pm.12-month school calendar.Why Join VCLC?Meaningful work that directly impacts children’s development and family lives.Paid holidays and school breaks (totaling to approximately 7 weeks)Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.Opportunities for growth within the organization.Inclusive, mission-driven work environment.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insurancePaid time offParental leaveProfessional development assistanceReferral programRetirement planVision insurance
