The Education Coordinator is responsible for the supervision, mentoring and training of the education staff (teacher, teacher assistants and teacher aides) in assigned classes to assure that the students in the class are receiving specialized instruction based on their IEPs in a safe, therapeutic environment. The Coordinator oversees the implementation of curriculum, classroom management strategies and instructional methodology which should be compatible with VCLC’s philosophy, the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards, the New York State Early Learning Guides, and the Pyramid Model.Educational/Certification Requirements: Must have a master’s degree in Special Education, School Building Leadership Certification (SBL) and a NYS Students with Disabilities (Birth -Grade 2) Initial or Permanent Professional Certification, or a NYS Special Education Permanent Certification.Minimum of 3 years of Special Education classroom experience.Full Time: Monday-Friday Typically 8:00am - 3:30pm (Benefit Eligible)Variety Child Learning Center is open 12 months. Education Coordinators typically work 212 days/year.
