This position is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special needs.Key ResponsibilitiesHelp with classroom setup, organization, and clean-up.Review and understand each student’s IEP and provide feedback and observations for reports and reviews.Work with individual students or small groups to support IEP goals, social skills, and communication.Assist the classroom teacher in implementing behavior plans (BIPs) and classroom management strategies.Collect and maintain data related to student progress and behavior.Support the implementation of curriculum aligned with New York State Pre-K Standards, focusing on learning, physical development, social-emotional growth, communication, and cognition.QualificationsHighschool Diploma requiredMinimum for Assistants: Level 1 Teacher Assistant Certification (New York State Education Department).Experience working with children in special education or early childhood settings preferred.
