Childcare Lead Teacher – Full Time (12-Month Program) Location: Variety Child Learning Center Gallow Campus-Levittown, NYHours: 7:30-4:00 or 8:00-4:30FLSA: Non-ExemptVariety Child Learning Center seeks a caring and dependable Childcare Lead Teacher to join our early childhood program. The Lead Teacher creates a safe, engaging classroom environment and supports the development, learning, and well-being of young children.Responsibilities:Plan and lead developmentally appropriate daily activitiesEnsure safety and compliance with NYS OCFS regulationsSupervise and care for children, including feeding/diapering/toiletingModel positive communication and social skillsEngage with children during play and structured activitiesSupervise and direct Teacher Assistants and AidesMaintain a clean, organized classroomRequired Education and Experience:Associate degree in early childhood child development or related field; orChild Development Associate Credential or other Office-recognized credentials specific to the preschool developmental period; or9 college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field, two years of experience related to caring for children, with a plan of study leading to a:Child Development Associate Credential; orAnother Office-recognized credential specific to the preschool developmental period RequirementsMust meet all medical and security clearancesMust complete OCFS-required training hoursAbility to lift children ranging from 35–50 lbs. and engage in active classroom supervision
