United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island is seeking a dynamic leader with a proven record of success in developing academic excellence in providing comprehensive educational, therapeutic, and rehabilitative programs for students with special needs, ages birth through twenty-one. This is 12-month position including a six week summer program. Administration and supervision of day-to-day operations of the Education Program; responsible for delegation of duties and supervision of all employees of the Education Program:Defining program budgets, identifying State and Federal grants, insuring that all mandated services are received and allocated accordingly, and designing and implementing programmatic marketing strategies, annual program evaluation, and strategic planning.Responsible for program development and regulatory compliance.Maintain ongoing communications with School District Committees, Dept. of Health and UCP’s throughout the state of NY.Support and enhance the safety and morale, well-being and personal growth of all employees and participants as related to agency and programmatic mission and goals. Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Special Education and the required NYS Administrative Certification (SAS and SBL) as a special education principal. Five plus years as a Principal and/or Assistant Principal in a similar school program required. Must be self-motivated and possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and have outstanding leadership qualities. Probable September 2024 start, with possible earlier date.
