The Children's Center of United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island located in Commack, NY is seeking a full-time (12 month) Physical Therapist. NO TRAVEL REQUIRED-ONE LOCATION. Workday ends at 3:30pm with opportunity for Early Intervention contract work after hours. Our students range from age 3 to 21 with a variety of disabilities. Our program is a team-focused approach with OT's, SLP's, Social Workers, School Psychologist, Teaching Staff, Administration and other Physical Therapists.This is a school setting (pre-school/school age) with a basic school calendar schedule (9-10 weeks paid vacation/year) followed by a mandatory 6 week summer session.Experience working with pediatric population a plus, however, new grads will be considered. Must work well with other clinicians, teachers, parents and physicians. Excellent communication skills necessary. Applicants should be creative, flexible and willing to learn and grow.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Evaluate, develop and implement treatment plans for students with orthopedic, neuro-physiological or developmental deficitsCommunicate therapeutic procedures to teachers, staff and familiesData input into secure, computerized systems for reports and billingAttend weekly scheduled team meetings with Educational Staff and other cliniciansDevelop productive, collaborative working relationships with the clinical and educational teamsAttend parent team meetings and on occasion attend School District meetings via phoneNYS License in Physical Therapy required
