Secondary English Teacher P-Tech Certified PositionFull-Time, 10-Month position Affiliation: Teacher’s AssociationP-TECH Academy Location: TC3 CampusTST P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) is an innovative program that blends high school, college, and workplace learning through a Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach with a focus on technology and STEAM. Students will have up to six years to receive both a high school diploma and a free associate’s degree from Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3), along with real-world experience and essential soft skills. We are a close-knit, forward-thinking team committed to reimagining education for the 21st century. By collaborating with TC3, business partners, and one another, we design meaningful and relevant learning experiences that empower all students to take ownership of their education and prepare for the future.DUTIES:Curriculum Development and Delivery:• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with both high school English Language Arts standards and aligned with TC3 course curriculum for concurrent enrollment opportunities.• Integrate literacy strategies across all subject areas, ensuring students build strong reading, writing, and communication skills.• Utilize a variety of instructional techniques to cater to diverse learning styles and needs.• Demonstrate commitment to equity, inclusion, and an assets-based approach to supporting all students, especially students who have been historically marginalized.• Embrace Technology and Digital Learning.• Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, using data to inform instructional adjustments and improve student outcomes.• Incorporate project-based learning, problem-solving, and real-world applications into the curriculum to enhance student engagement and understanding.• Willing to work in a co-teaching setting.• Collaborate with business, industry, and post-secondary partners.P-TECH Program Integration:• Collaborate with staff and teachers, industry partners, and college faculty to align curriculum and create relevant learning experiences.• Support students in their dual enrollment efforts and monitor their progress in college courses.• Track and monitor student data, including grades, attendance, and progress towards both high school and college graduation requirements.Student Support and Guidance:• Provide individualized academic support and guidance on study skills and time management.• Collaborate with parents, counselor/social worker, and other stakeholders to ensure students receive the necessary support to thrive in the P-TECH program.Professional Development:• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in ELA instruction and P-TECH program implementation.• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, analyze student data, and develop innovative teaching strategies.• Engage in reflective practice to continuously improve teaching effectiveness.QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:• New York State School Teacher Certification in Secondary English Language Arts. Preferred certification in multiple areas (but not required).• Previous teaching experience, preferably with High School students.• Strong knowledge of English Language Arts curriculum and pedagogy.• Experience with project-based learning and other innovative instructional strategies or a willingness to learn.• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.• Commitment to the P-TECH model and its goals of college and career readiness.• Familiarity with P-TECH concepts and industry partnerships is a plus.START DATE: September 2, 2025SALARY RANGE: $56,500 (2025-26 Base Salary), plus additional salary credit for graduate credits, Master’s Degree and prior related experience.
