TITLE: INSTRUCTIONAL SPECIALIST for SPECIAL ED. Certified Position11-Month, Full-time Position (238 Days) Affiliation: Non-Affiliated/CertifiedRegional School Success Department Location: Various Component Districts (Position works the Regular calendar, plus 20 days in the summer – earns additional vacation days.) DUTIES:Collaborates with various educational stakeholders, such as Committees on Special Education (CSE), teachers, administrators, related service and para-professionals, to enhance local capacity to provide a compliant and effective continuum of special education services, including the procedural safeguards.Design and facilitate professional learning experiences for certified staff in the areas of IEP and Section 504 plan development and implementation to ensure “educational benefits” to students. Provide assistance to Special Education leaders (ie. CSE Chairpersons, Directors of Special Education) to ensure quality in Response to Intervention (RTI), Academic Intervention Services (AIS), FBA/BIP planning, and delivery of special education services.Provide technical assistance for district and school leaders in complying with the NYS Performance Plan, such as: data analysis, accountability, and interventions, post-secondary transition planning, MTSS/RTI, etc. QUALIFICATIONS: New York State Permanent or Professional Teaching Certification required.A minimum of three years successful teaching or leading experience in Special Education and/or related services.Demonstrate current knowledge of NYS Commissioner Regulations, IDEA, Section 504, NYSED content area learning standards for students. START DATE: January 3, 2023 SALARY HIRING RANGE: $51,850 - $61, 000 (11 Month position; works the regular calendar plus 20 days in the summer.) (Position works 7.75 hours/day, 38.75/hours/week.)
