DUTIES: Responsible for the development and implementation of a Cosmetology course that meets the NYSlicensing requirements and the NYS Learning Standards and Graduation Requirements.Develop curriculum and lesson plans, teach toward the curriculum, evaluate student progress, keep appropriate records.Teach toward the vocational performance outcomes (SCANS) skills.Provide and manage student Cosmetology clinical experiences consistent with CORE/ licensing competencies and skills.Teach applied integrated academics as they relate to program/course responsibilities.Develop and maintain excellent working relationship(s) with area cosmetology professionals and with T-S-T staff.Additional summer teaching hours will be expected.QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a NYS Cosmetology Teacher Certification or C.Q. and a current NYS Cosmetology License with five years minimum full-time work experience in Cosmetology with up-to-date knowledge and skills. Previous successful teaching experience desirable. Must be a team player and excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and communication skills. Computer skills desirable. The successful candidate will need to have or develop strong computer skills for instruction and management.START DATE: September 5, 2023SALARY: $52,000 plus additional salary credit for graduate credits, Master’s Degree and prior teaching experience.
