TITLE: Long-term Substitute Special Education Teacher Certified Position From February 15, 2023 – return of incumbent Affiliation: None Exceptional Education Location: Smith School DUTIES: Responsible for all aspects of teaching including but not limited to the development and implementation of curriculum for NYSAA eligible students, instruction, assessment, student supervision, home-school communication, etc. Serve as collegial team member in a dynamic K-12 educational setting. Maintain student records consistent with State and Federal regulations. Perform other duties as required. *This position requires the ability and desire to work with elementary school and middle school age students with multiple disabilities in a self-contained 8:1:1 BOCES setting. QUALIFICATIONS: Students with Disabilities Teaching Certification, grades 1-6, 7-9, or K-12 is preferred, but not required. Uncertified teachers may substitute up to 40 days in a school year. Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Strong instructional and managerial computer skills are desired. START DATE: February 15, 2023 SALARY: Certified Substitute teacher rate = $125.00 per day. ($115 uncertified). Substitute Teacher that works for a period of up to 20 consecutive workdays in the same class/assignment, payment will be paid at a daily rate. A Long-Term Substitute Teacher works more than 20 consecutive workdays in the same class/assignment, payment will be at a rate of 1/200 of an annual salary.
