Duties: Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES is seeking an Assistant Director of Curriculum & Instructional Services to assist with oversight and coordination of the CIS department. The successful candidate will provide support for programs in the candidate’s area(s) of expertise and co-coordinate the Curriculum Center Service. Working in collaboration with the Director of Curriculum & Instructional Services, the successful candidate will create Curriculum Center programs and support the regional Curriculum Council. The successful candidate will build, facilitate, observe, and evaluate regional workshops, support the organization and administration of in-district consultation support, and design and manage the Curriculum Center professional learning services in coordination with Department staff and outside consultants. The successful candidate will play a role in the recruitment, retention, evaluation, and goal setting of staff as deemed appropriate, and will assist with budgeting and development for services within the Curriculum Center, and other programs where the candidate has significant expertise. The successful candidate will also assist with additional department-wide functions such as grant administration support, program management, and other Professional Learning Division initiatives as determined by the Director.Qualifications: Proven effective educator and leader with a minimum of three years of educational administration experience in the area of curriculum and instruction and professional learning design. Strong background in, and committed passion to, the fields of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and technology.Experience as an elementary or secondary educator with varied expertise in content and discipline; of particular interest are candidates with a background in world language, health, the arts, and/or special education.Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Creativity with strong organizational and entrepreneurial skills.New York State district level administrative certification required (SDA or SDL).Characteristics Desired: Successful candidates must have a positive, can-do attitude, be passionate about teaching and leading for the whole learner, be focused on building a culture of excellence, and be committed to the PNW BOCES mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership.Apply on OLAS
