POSITION: School District Nurse DUTIES: Providing direct health services to students and staff including but not limited to:Provides care for student and staff illness and accidents.Administer first aid and emergency treatment to students.Arranges to transport sick or injured students or employees to hospital, home, doctor or dentist’s office in case of emergency.Administering and securing all prescribed medications with signed consent of parent and doctor.Contributing to the school health program through communication and collaboration with school staff, parents, students, and community resources.Reporting appropriate health records and communicable diseases as required by law.Communicating clearly and proactively with parents, staff, and medical personnel on student illnesses to ensure all faculty have relevant information on the student body. Monitoring compliance of health forms, and documenting nurse visits accurately and in a timely fashion.QUALIFICATIONS: The qualified candidate will possess the following:RN license issued by the Connecticut Education Department.Pass fingerprint/background check.A working knowledge of pharmacology, nutrition, sanitation and personal hygiene;Knowledge of school health programs such as immunization and other requirements;Ability to understand and follow technical, oral and written instructions;Ability to get along well with students, teachers, parents and othersSALARY: Approximately $64,000, excellent benefits and paid time off.
