The New Fairfield School District is seeking dedicated and compassionate Elementary Special Education Teachers to join our team. If you are a dynamic educator with a solid understanding of disabilities including Learning Disabilities, Autism and Intellectual Disability and an understanding of trauma informed teaching approaches we would love to connect with you. Responsibilities include lesson planning, delivery, assessing students, and writing high quality IEPs. Also involved, participation in interdisciplinary team meetings, PPT Meetings, parent communication, collaboration with related service providers, collaboration with general education teachers and being able to work with and supervise paraprofessionals in your classroom. QUALIFICATIONS:CT Certification in Special Education (165, 265, or 065)Excellent teaming, collaboration and communication skills.Ability to differentiate instruction and provide inclusive educationhighly desirable.Prefer teaching experience in managing student behavior.
