POSITION: Financial Services CoordinatorPosition Summary: The Financial Services Coordinator supervises the district's accounting functions to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the business office in support of the Director of Business and Operations. This position provides essential accounting, data analysis and financial planning functions to aid in decision-making and data gathering for negotiations. Essential Responsibilities:Oversees and manages day-to-day accounting operations also serving as a backup for Payroll, Accounts Payable, Benefits Compensation, and Accounting.Manages Accounts Receivable for district operations. Ensures the implementation of financial policies and procedures in alignment with district and state requirements.Serves as the liaison for the transportation contractor, ensuring compliance with district transportation policies and addressing any transportation-related concerns.Oversees food service programs, including managing financial aspects of free and reduced lunch programs and compliance with state and federal regulations.Assists the Director of Business and Operations in the annual financial audit processes.Assists in accessing data, updating policy and forms, and mailing notices. Leads data gathering and financial analysis for union negotiations, mediation, and arbitration, if necessary. Manages and prepares the district’s budget document, and other financial reports, providing comprehensive financial documentation and projections.Manages all financial activity related to district grants, including monthly fund requests and year-end closeout.Prepares financial reports, salary analyses, presentations for negotiations, and administrative committees.Performs job responsibilities in a highly confidential manner including various items and/or reports pertaining to financial and personnel issues within the business office. Assumes such other tasks as may be assigned by the Director.Qualifications & Skills:Associates Degree Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field or a minimum of five years of experience in school finance, business management, or a related field preferred. Strong understanding of school district financial operations, including budgeting, payroll, accounting, and grants.Experience with financial software systems, payroll processing, and data analysis.
