Join Our Team as a Curriculum and Instruction Leader (CIL) for K-5 Literacy for New Fairfield Elementary School.Learn more about our district here https://www.newfairfieldschools.orgWe are seeking to hire a dynamic leader for the position of Curriculum and Instruction Leader (CIL) for K-5 Literacy. The successful candidate will play a role in shaping high-quality teaching and learning in literacy for the New Fairfield Public Schools. The K-5 Literacy CIL provides leadership in the areas of literacy (reading and writing) curriculum design,instruction, assessment, data analysis, and professional learning within and across the grade levels. The CIL is responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction in classrooms through modeling, co-planning, co-teaching and providing feedback to teachers. The role builds teacher capacity, promotes teacher reflection, and fosters understanding of best practices related to New Fairfield’s curriculum, instruction, and assessment systems.QualificationsValid Connecticut teaching certification (or eligible) appropriate to the specific assignment; or equivalent NY certification. Minimum of five years teaching experience with literacy curriculum design experience andinstructional excellence.Strong pedagogical knowledge and content expertise in the realm of literacy; ability to applyScience of Reading principles to instructional practice in the classroom.Understanding of assessment strategies (formative and summative) and the analysis of assessmentdata to inform instruction at the student, class, grade, and school level.Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory to inform coaching and professional learning for staff.Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively with colleagues, including the ability toprovide feedback and foster a professional community of adult learners.Demonstrated leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills, including giving and receivingconstructive feedback.Demonstrated evidence of professional growth, including leadership and participation in a widerange of significant professional development activities.Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Design Leadership:Provide leadership in the design, implementation, and review of NFPS K-5 Literacy (reading andwriting) curriculumEvaluate (with clearly established criteria) and recommend educational resources, includingtextbooks, digital tools, and supplementary materials that support curriculum, instruction, andassessment.Salary as per the NFEA contract with additional stipend attached.For more information or for a full job description feel free to contact lloyd.rebecca@newfairfieldschools.org
