Variety Child Learning Center (VCLC) is a not-for-profit agency providing educational and therapeutic services to young children with disabilities ages 2 to 8 years old.. We are seeking a Full-Time School Nurse (RN). Our facilities are located in Syosset, NY and Levittown, NY.The School Nurse is responsible for direct treatment for a student’s health issues and/or injury and dispenses medication according to a student’s prescription; communication with the child’s guardian on any health issues and ensuring that all administrative tasks are completed. This position reports dually to the Coordinator of Health Services and the site Principal.Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm (Benefit Eligible)Job Requirements: Must have a RN degree, a minimum of one years’ experience working with young children with disabilities and their families (preferable in a school setting) and be CPR, AED First Aid and Epi Pen Certified.COVID-19 considerations: Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated and boosted. If the school closes due to a COVID-19 related circumstance, you must have the ability to work remotely, including but not limited to internet access and device that you can work from (smart phone, I-pad, lap-top).The school operates 12 months/year. Typically, the School Nurse works 217 days/year.
