Variety Child Learning Center (VCLC) is a not-for-profit agency providing quality educational and therapeutic services to young children with disabilities. We are currently accepting applications for a full-time Social Worker (bi-lingual - Spanish preferred). This position may be based in our Levittown or Syosset facility.The Social Worker helps individuals, families and groups deal with and change behaviors, emotions, attitudes, relationships, and social conditions to restore and enhance their capacity to meet personal and social needs. A social worker is assigned to each family to help them understand their child’s disability and the effect on the family system. Social workers do work individually with parents, as a couple or in a group setting.Required Education and Experience: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Current NYSED registration as a LCSW or LMSW.Preferred Experience: Experience and knowledge working with children with complex physical and communication needs.Full Time: Monday-Friday 8:00am - 3:30pm (Benefit Eligible). This is a 12/month position.Job Requirements: Must be a reliable, kind person who is willing to work with children with disabilities in a classroom environment. This role is a physically demanding role. The employee is required to be non-sedentary. Security clearances required.* If the school closes due to any circumstance, you must have the ability to work remotely, including but not limited to internet access and device that you can work from (smart phone, I-pad, lap-top).
