Variety Child Learning Center (VCLC) is a not-for-profit agency providing quality educational and therapeutic services to young children with disabilities. Our Facilities are located in Syosset, NY & Levittown, NY. Our school operates 12 months/year.We are currently accepting applications for a Special Education Teacher with ABA experience at our Levittown facility.A Special Education Teacher is responsible to meet the educational and social/emotional needs of students with IEPs and and promote inclusion and acceptance. Curriculum, that is compatible with the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards and the New York State Early Learning Guidelines, will be used. In addition, the teacher is responsible for ongoing evaluation and assessment of the student’s progress toward instructional objectives and coordination of the delivery of special education services as per the IEP.We require a Master's Degree, NYS Professional Certification in Special Education/students with disabilities from birth to 2nd grade or equivalent, and 1-3 years teaching experience utilizing ABA methodologyHours are typically 8:00am-3:30pm Monday Friday - Benefit's EligibleFull Time Special Education Teachers work a total of 212 days/yearThese roles may be physically demanding. The employee is required to be non-sedentary. Must be able to stand; run, walk; sit; bend, climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; The employee must be able to lift an average pre-school age child (35 pounds) and school age child (50 pounds).Background clearance required - Annual Physical & PPD required
