TITLE: Long-term Substitute ENL Teacher Certified Position ASAP until position is filled with F-T permanent Affiliation: None Regional School Success Location: Component Districts in Region DUTIES: The Long-Term Substitute Itinerant English as a New Language Teacher (ENL) will be responsible for teaching students in the various participating component school districts to cover a temporary vacancy. The ENL teacher will be familiar with and responsible for developing an ENL curriculum appropriate to the NYS mandated regulations for services and the grade/ability levels of the student being taught. The ENL teacher will be familiar with the Bilingual Common Core Progressions. The teacher will maintain appropriate student records and is responsible for assessing students per NYS regulations. The ENL teacher must be flexible and able to work as a member of a team. The teacher will perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Teacher Certification is preferred, but not necessary. Uncertified teachers may substitute up to 40 days in a school year. Experience working with new language learners is strongly preferred. START DATE: As soon as possible. Position is expected to last until full-time permanent teacher is hired SALARY: Substitute teacher rate = $135.00 per day. ($125 uncertified) Substitute Teacher that works for a period of up to 20 consecutive workdays in the same class/assignment, payment will be paid at a daily rate. A Long-Term Substitute Teacher works more than 20 consecutive workdays in the same class/assignment, payment will be at a rate of 1/200 of an annual salary. The annual salary will be calculated as if the substitute were being hired for a regular appointment.
