TITLE: BUSINESS & INDUSTRY TRAINER: CosmetologyLocation: T-S-T BOCES CampusAdult Education DepartmentPart-time, Hourly Position1000 hour program offered as neededMust be able to explain and teach adult students from various backgrounds, cultures, ages and experience levels and provide comprehensive Cosmetology instruction in theories and technical applications. The position involves teaching and evaluating students in concepts and salon procedures as well as performing related work as required.DUTIES:Ability to communicate effectively with adult learners and to maintain good relationships with staff and students.Ability to demonstrate competence in areas expected to teach.Ability to plan, organize and communicate quality instruction.Maintain student attendance records and NY State Board required records.Prepare lesson plans and activities; prepare and oversee student projects and salon operations.Administer text material exams and NY State Board mock examinations.Maintains safe and sanitary practices to be followed by all students, instructors, and internal and external guests.Maintain and supervise proper use of products, supplies, implements, and equipment.Attend scheduled faculty meetingsQUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors or Master’s Degree, New York State Teaching Certification and experience teaching adults is preferred. Must possess or obtain NYS Adult Education Certification. A minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching Cosmetology in Adult Education is desirable.START DATE: July 15, 2023 (1000-hour program offered throughout the year as needed.
