Long Term Substitute SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER 9-12 Affiliation: NoneP-Tech Academy Location: TC3 Campus Full Time, temporaryP-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) offers an integrated high school and college curriculum emphasizing technology and STEAM through a Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach. Students gain both academic knowledge and workplace readiness, including soft skills and internship experience. Graduates earn a high school diploma and an accredited associate degree from Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3).DUTIES: Key Responsibilities:• Instructional Support: Provide tailored instruction and adaptive strategies for students with learning, mental, emotional, or physical disabilities, focusing on college and career readiness skills such as time management and study habits.• Collaborative Planning: Work with general education teachers, college instructors, and industry mentors to develop and implement integrated curriculum that supports student success across high school and college coursework.• Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to track progress and provide individualized support for students with disabilities, ensuring they meet academic and personal goals.• Data-Driven Instruction: Utilize formative and summative assessments to guide instructional plans, adapting teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of P-TECH students.• Inclusion and Support: Create a safe and supportive learning environment for all students, including those with disabilities, ensuring equitable access to the P-TECH program's opportunities for work-based learning and associate degrees.• Soft Skills Development: Foster critical skills like collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and literacy to prepare students for success in the workplace and postsecondary education.• Required to maintain student records consistent with State and Federal regulations.• Performs other duties as required and assigned by supervisor including speaking with our business partners.QUALIFICATIONS: New York State Teacher Certification in SWD 7-12 Generalist OR SWD grades 7-12 OR Permanent K-12 Special Education Teaching Certification, is preferred, but not required. Uncertified teachers may substitute up to 40 days in a school year.START DATE: As soon as possible (position is expected to last until a certified teacher is hired and may continue until June 26, 2026)SALARY: Substitute teacher rate = $135.00 per day. ($125 uncertified) Substitute Teacher that works for a period of up to 20 consecutive workdays in the same class/assignment, payment will be paid at a daily rate. A Long-Term Substitute Teacher works more than 20 consecutive workdays in the same class/assignment, payment will be at a rate of 1/200 of an annual salary. The annual salary will be calculated as if the substitute were being hired for a regular appointment.
