Therapy and Learning Center, Inc. (TLC) a highly respected and established Special Education preschool program, located in Park Slope, Brooklyn is seeking a full time Special Education Classroom Teacher.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Lead a classroom of preschoolers with special needs in an 8:1:2 self-contained classroomWrite and execute lesson plans that address IEP goals, assess student skills and write progress reports that clearly communicate those skillsCommunicate with parents and involve them in their child’s activities and progressProvide direction to teacher assistants, 1:1’s or substitutes in the classroomHave strong interpersonal problem solving, and communication skillsQualifications:Initial/Professional NYS Students with Disabilities (Birth - 2nd Grade) Certification or NYS Permanent Special Education CertificationA minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree PreferredAt least 2 years teaching experience, including student teaching, with preschool age children with special needsThe daily work hours are from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
