The ideal candidate will have a passion for art education and the ability to inspire students to explore and express their creativity through various artistic mediums.Responsibilities:Develop and implement engaging art lessons that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines for middle school and high school students.Teach a variety of art forms, including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, digital art, and art history, to foster students' artistic skills and appreciation.Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to experiment, take risks, and develop their artistic voice.Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students improve their artistic techniques, critical thinking skills, and self-expression.Organize and facilitate art exhibitions, showcases, and other opportunities for students to display their artwork and receive recognition for their achievements.Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community partners to promote art education and advocate for the importance of creativity in students' overall development.Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in art education and contribute to the school's arts program enhancementMaintain accurate records of student progress, behavior and attendanceStrong classroom management skillsCommunicate regularly with parents and guardiansQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or related field (Master's degree preferred).Valid NYS teaching license or certification in Art Education.Experience teaching art at the middle school and/or high school level.Proficiency in a variety of art techniques and mediums.Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Additional Benefits:Generous Paid Time OffOn-going Professional Development and Career OpportunitiesHealth Insurance options: medical, dental, and visionNYS Retirement Benefits
