The ideal candidate will have a strong background in elementary education, science, technology, research, engineering, agriculture, the arts, and mathematics. The candidate should be committed to empowering students with essential academic and life skills and creating engaging and relevant STREAM learning experiences. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred). Valid NYS teaching license or certification in PK-6 Elementary Education (or state equivalent). Experience teaching curriculum in the content areas of science, technology, research, engineering, agriculture, the arts, and mathematics. Knowledge of elementary curriculum frameworks, standards, and instructional strategies. Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills Responsibilities: Develop and teach district-approved and adopted STREAM curricula. Employ research-supported methodologies that support literacy and mathematical best practices. Utilize hands-on, experiential learning methods, including laboratory activities, projects, demonstrations, and simulations, to engage students and reinforce practical skills. Incorporate technology tools and resources lessons to enhance student learning, research, and project-based activities. Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable. Provide guidance and support to students in developing decision-making skills, goal-setting strategies, and responsible behaviors. Assess student learning and progress through various formative and summative assessments, performance tasks, portfolios, and authentic assessments aligned with Next Generation Standards. Participate in professional development activities, professional organizations, and ongoing curriculum development to stay current with best practices in elementary education. Maintain accurate records of student academic achievement, progress, behavior, and attendance Directs paraprofessionals, volunteers, student mentors, etc. to maximize their efficiency and meet work requirements, to effectively meet student programming needs, and address the needs of individual students.
