Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, History, Education, or a related field.• Valid teaching certification or license (specific to state requirements).• Prior teaching experience preferred but not required.• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.• Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt to the needs of individual learners.• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.Responsibilities:• Plan and implement lessons that align with state standards and school curriculum.• Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning stylesand abilities.• Develop lessons that incorporate critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and studentengagement.• Assess and evaluate student performance using formative and summative assessments.• Provide constructive feedback to students to encourage growth and achievement.• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment conducive tolearning.• Manage student behavior using consistent and fair classroom management strategies.• Establish and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance the learningexperience.• Participate in department meetings, professional development, and school events.Additional Responsibilities:• Integrate technology and digital resources into classroom instruction.• Encourage civic engagement and promote cultural awareness and diversity in thecurriculum.• Supervise students during assigned duties such as lunch, hallways, or extracurricularactivities.• Stay current with developments in education and social studies pedagogy.Additional Benefits:• Generous Paid Time Off• On-going Professional Development and Career Opportunities• Health Insurance options: medical, dental, and vision• NYS Retirement Benefits
