Duties: As an Educational Interpreter, you will be a key facilitator of communication within educational settings, bridging language barriers between students, families, educators, and clinicians. Your role is crucial in ensuring that non-English speaking families have access to educational resources and opportunities.Interpret for various evaluations, including psychological, academic, and speech/language assessments, ensuring fidelity to the original messages;Coordinate with school administrators, teachers, and clinicians to prepare for interpreting sessions;Provide accurate interpretation during IEP meetings, ensuring clear communication of educational plans between school staff and families;Act as an acting as a linguistic and cultural bridge during school meetings;Assist in translating educational materials when necessary, maintaining the original content's integrity;Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of practice in all interactions;Work both in-person and remotely, using video platforms for virtual assignments.Qualifications:Fluency in relevant language(s) and English, with oral, written, and reading proficiency;Strong command of video platforms (Teams, Zoom, Google Meet);Ability to multitask and manage email efficiently;Experience in educational settings or working with children preferred;Proficient in handling sensitive information with discretion.Characteristics Desired: Commitment to inclusivity and equity in education;Excellent interpersonal skills for diverse group engagement;Problem-solving skills and adaptability in dynamic environments.
