Duties: Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates the need for a Coordinator of Guidance & Child Study Center. The Coordinator of the Guidance & Child Study Center plays a key role in advancing support for high-priority student populations, particularly for English Language Learners and culturally diverse students. Under the direction of the Director of Leadership & Equity, this position is essential in addressing regional service needs and expanding access to targeted resources. Key Responsibilities may include:Oversee the Evaluation Center operations;Coordinate professional learning for clinicians;Supervise new vendor vetting and on-boarding;Manage contract reviews for evaluations and clinical services.The Coordinator of the Guidance & Child Study Center will lead a team and collaborate with specialized consultants to support school districts in areas such as:Comprehensive & Psychological Evaluations;Neuropsychological Appraisals;Educational Evaluations;Social Histories;Speech and Language Evaluations;Multicultural (Bilingual) Evaluations;Audiological & Behavioral Consultations;Guidance, Special Education, and PPS Program Reviews;Neurological & Psychiatric Consultations;Shared Resources (School Psychologists, School Counselors, School Social Workers)The Coordinator of the Guidance & Child Study Center will also work closely with the Director of Leadership and Equity to support the additional services provided by the Guidance & Child Study Center such as:LGBTQ+ Inclusive Schools Collaborative;Guidance & Counseling Directors Collaborative;ENL Leaders Collaborative The Coordinator will be responsible for providing exceptional educational leadership in the services identified above, as well as to work closely with districts to anticipate future service needs and to meet them in a cost-effective manner.Qualifications: New York State administrative certification required (SAS, SDA, SBL, SDL). Experience in Pupil Personnel Services and/or Special Education preferred. Bilingual or multilingual candidates, both with oral and written fluency and proficiency preferred. Characteristics Desired: Committed, passionate, self-starter who has a working understanding of students who are culturally and linguistically diverse, that is dedicated and capable of creating regional and statewide partnerships and leading and encouraging a strong teamwork approach. A skilled leader with outstanding interpersonal, problem solving and decision-making skills as well as excellent oral and written skills, strong organizational, and time-management skills.
