Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES has an exciting leadership opportunity for an exceptional school leader committed to students interested in career and technical education. The Director of Career and Technical Education will provide oversight and coordination of all aspects of the Career and Technical Education Department such as:Develop and maintain positive, meaningful partnerships within BOCES and the leadership teams in component school districts;Facilitate CTE regional and state wide connections;Design, implement, and evaluate career and technical education programs, as well as leading the way to enhance existing programs;Oversee and support Career and Technical Administration and staff;Supervise and build capacity among career and technical leaders, teachers, and staff;Identify regional needs and create high quality, cost-effective programs that benefit our student population and components;Develop and manage the Career and Technical Education budget in a creative, cost-effective manner and develop clear and efficient budgetary processes. In addition, would work with and oversee the leadership team of Adult & Continuing Education department;Completes other duties as assigned.Qualifications:The successful candidate will have knowledge of career and technical education and a willingness to continue to grow as a leader; experience creating high quality, innovative programs and working with community groups as well as local businesses to meet changing needs of our students; expertise in program development, supervision and budgeting; proven ability as a rigorous academic leader with experience providing effective instructional practices for students and effective professional development for staff; an effective communicator who has developed positive relationships with colleagues, faculty, staff, students and parents; Proven effective administrative experience in a leadership position; New York State district level administrative certification required (SDA or SDL). An individual willing to work as a team with both building teachers, staff, administration and district wide administration and staff.
