The Malverne School District is seeking strong candidates who possess New York State certification in Visual Arts for a Full-Time Tenure Track HS Photography position. Candidates must have both digital and darkroom experience. REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts • Valid NYS Teacher certification in Visual Arts K-12 • Full NYS fingerprint clearance ESSENTIAL DUTIES: • Knowledge and integration of NY State Arts Standards • Photography I • Photography II (Includes Darkroom) • Maintain inventory of cameras • Contribute and display student work in District K-12 Art Exhibit • Submit students for All-County Art Exhibit • Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development. • Submit weekly lesson plans to Supervisor • Participate in department, school, district meetings and professional development activities • Foster and maintain effective communication with families. • Establish a positive classroom environment through proactive methods, a clear management system, and strong student rapport. • Demonstrate a relentless commitment to ensuring all students succeed at the highest levels. • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor, Principal or other appropriate administrator.
