Tenure Track – Malverne School District is seeking a candidate to fill an immediate social studies probationary teaching position at Malverne High School in the Humanities Department. REQUIREMENTS:Available to start immediately.AP Government and Global History experience preferred.Valid NYS Teaching Certification in Social Studies 7-12 REQUIRED 5-12 Extension is also preferred.Full NYS fingerprint clearanceESSENTIAL DUTIES:Plan and deliver engaging, academically rigorous social studies lessons.Implement curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.Assess student learning and provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments.Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching practices.Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.Participate in department, school, district meetings and professional development activities.Foster and maintain effective communication with parents and/or guardians.Establish a positive classroom environment through proactive methods, a clear management system, and strong student rapport.Demonstrate a relentless commitment to ensuring all students succeed at the highest levels.Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor, Principal, or other appropriate administrator.
