Malverne School District is looking for an Elementary School Psychologist to fill a three-month leave at the start of the school year at Maurice W. Downing Primary School. REQUIREMENTS: Valid NYS certification School Psychologist Elementary school experience preferred (primary grades) Full NYS fingerprint clearance ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Counseling (Mandated) – group and individual Non-Mandated Counseling Evaluations: Complete initial and evaluations and conduct reevaluations throughout the year Committee on Special Education (CSE) Meetings: Participate in or chair meetings including initials, annual reviews, and program reviews Chair 504 Accommodation Meetings Classroom and Staff Support: provide behavioral consultation and support to teachers and related service providers Instructional Support Team (IST) Meetings Meet regularly with administration to address student behavior, classroom management, and academic concerns Crisis Intervention: Respond to crisis situations involving elopement, aggression, SI or self-harm Liaison with Outside Therapists
