Malverne School District is seeking a candidate for a part-time, high school science position for the 2026-2027 school year. REQUIREMENTS: Valid NYS Teacher certification in Secondary Science Education Earth Science Certification Full NYS fingerprint clearance ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Facilitate and mentor students in scientific research, guiding them through the development of research questions, investigation design, data analysis, and communication of scientific findings. Plan and teach highly engaging, academically rigorous high school Earth and Space Science lessons aligned with the New York State P–12 Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS), district curriculum, and Malverne’s instructional philosophy. Design learning activities that will relate mathematics to the physical world. Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development. Participate in department, school, district meetings and professional development activities. Foster and maintain effective communication with parents and/or guardians. Establish a positive classroom environment through proactive methods, a clear management system, and strong student rapport. Demonstrate a relentless commitment to ensuring all students succeed at the highest levels. Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor, Principal or other appropriate administrator.
