The Malverne UFSD is looking for a full-time teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. While this position is initially offered as a leave replacement, there is the strong potential for the role to evolve into a full-time opportunity for the 2025-2026 school year based on organizational needs and candidate performance. REQUIREMENTS:Valid NYS Teacher certification in Students with Disabilities (7-12 or K-12)Students with Disabilities in Mathematics (7-12)Beneficial to also have: Students with Disabilities in Science (7-12)Full NYS fingerprint clearance ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Plan and teach highly engaging, academically rigorous lessons that also address the needs of students with disabilities.Demonstrate content expertise with the ability to scaffold material. Design learning activities that will relate to real world experiences.Create IEPs focusing on student strength and developing measurable goals.Participate in department, school, district meetings and professional development activities.Foster and maintain effective communication with parents/guardians/caretakers.Establish a positive classroom environment through proactive methods, a clear management system, and strong student rapport.Demonstrate a relentless commitment to ensuring all students succeed at the highest levels.Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the chairperson, principal, or other appropriate administrator.
