Malverne School District is seeking candidates for full-time, probationary teaching positions in the Special Education Department starting immediately. REQUIREMENTS: Valid NYS Teacher certification in Students with Disabilities (7-12 or K-12) Students with Disabilities in Mathematics (7-12) OR Students with Disabilities in Science (7-12) OR Students with Disabilities in Social studies (7-12) Multiple content area certifications preferred Full NYS fingerprint clearance ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Plan and teach highly engaging, academically rigorous lessons that also address the needs of students with disabilities. Demonstrate content expertise with the ability to scaffold material. Design learning activities that will relate to real world experiences. Create IEPs focusing on student strength and developing measurable goals. Participate in department, school, district meetings and professional development activities. Foster and maintain effective communication with parents/guardians/caretakers. Establish a positive classroom environment through proactive methods, a clear management system, and strong student rapport. Demonstrate a relentless commitment to ensuring all students succeed at the highest levels. Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the chairperson, principal, or other appropriate administrator.
