We are looking for applicants with:Experience providing interventions and related supports that will assure positive academic and social outcomes for all studentsPassion about child and family workThe overt ability to advocate, co-advocate, and collaborate on behalf of all students and familiesExcellent collaborative, clinical, organizational and documentation skillsExperience meeting the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students in diverse, low-income communityResponsibilities:Provide social work support services to students and their familiesProvide teachers and staff with strategies and interventions for struggling scholarsWork to align social, emotional, and behavioral supports with the School District’s missionConduct direct family outreach – including home visitsRegularly communicate with parents, teachers, and other staff to provide supportProvide individual, group and family servicesProvide intensive services and crisis intervention for high-risk students and their familiesMaintain parent involvement with correspondence, home visits, and meetingsAssist with the planning and implementation of schoolwide eventsAssist students in setting and reaching both short and long-term academic and attendance-related goalsAttend IEP and other meetings to assess and address students receiving special education servicesOther duties as assignedQualifications:Valid New York State certification as s School Social WorkerBilingual Spanish speaking or Haitian-Creole speakingHold or willingness to obtain a New York State Bilingual Extension certificateTo apply: Apply on OLAS with cover letter, resume, and preferred school level: elementary, middle, or high school
