The Program Directors will ensure that programming is delivered successfully by assisting in the planning and development of the program, support and supervise staff, monitoring program performance, maintaining inventory, overseeing the arrival & departure of students and overseeing operations at their assigned program site to ensure all safety standards and regulations are met.Program OutcomesTo improve academic competencies of students (academic)To offer opportunities for student to acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.(social emotional learning)To provide families with engaging and quality summer learning experiences for their children (attendance)Summer Academies ProgramsAll Sports Academy (2024-2025 entering Grades 1-6); July 8-August 15; Monday-ThursdayThis interdisciplinary program is designed to meet the academic & fitness needs of our young people. Students in grades 1-6 will focus on increasing movement literacy by experiencing a variety of physical activities & games that will contribute to an active & healthy lifestyle. In addition, students will be introduced to individual & team sports offered at East Ramapo CSD.Computer Science Academy (2024-2025 entering Grade 1-6); July 8-August 15; Monday-Thursday This academy is hands-on, experiential learning with a focus on the cognitive skills to build student capacity to become innovators, creators, & critical thinkers.Fine and Performing Arts Academy (2024-2025 entering Grades 1-12); July 8-August 15; Monday-ThursdayIn addition to music tutoring & lessons, the Fine & Performing Arts Academy program will grow the academic capacity of students through an artistic lens. Culminating demonstrations of learning range from musical concerts to performing or theatrical creations, or poetry.Summer Sprouts Academy (2024-2025 entering Grade K); July 8-August 15; Monday-ThursdayAt the Summer Sprouts Academy, everyday is a new learning experience with daily rotations related to overarching weekly themes. Rise Up / Academy (entering Grades 7-9); July 8-August 15; Monday-ThursdayThe Rise Up Academy aims to serve as a bridge connecting students as they transition into middle and high school. Our comprehensive program offers academic and emotional support, focusing on facilitating smooth transitions between buildings and managing the challenges students may face during this period. Through orientation activities, study skill assistance, and organizational habit development, we equip students with the tools they need to thrive in their new academic environments.QualificationsNYS teaching certification5 years of experience in educationProven experience as a program leader in an educational settingExperience, preferably in education field associated with program of interestFamiliarity with Google applications, spreadsheets and basic program management Proven success in solving challenges in program implementation in ways that are resourceful and respectfulSkill in organizing resources and establishing prioritiesExcellent management of conflict in the workplace and school setting by effectively applying conflict resolution strategies and confronting issues as they ariseCollaborative leadership styleAbility to thrive in an organization that values the diversity of its student body and workforce and actively promotes equity and inclusionPre-Program ResponsibilitiesAttend pre-program preparation and planning meetings with district supervisor to:Create program calendar and checklistHire instructorsReview and modify program outcomes and curriculumProvide budget requests for program materials, supplies, and activities and inventory spreadsheetsPrepare building-specific orientation slide deck for staff training and learning including conducting staff training eventsVisit site Coordinate room placement needs Create bussing structures to receive students and send students home Program ResponsibilitiesReports to the district supervisorOversee program operations Supervises and directs staffFacilitates the purchase and distribution of resources and materials to support the programConducts meeting with staff as needed during the program; facilitates staff orientation Initials instructor and staff vouchers for paymentInteracts daily with staff regarding academic issues and progress related to programWorks within approved budgetClearly aligns efforts to meet program objectives and measurable outcomesMaintain communication with parents/guardians regarding program updates and progress.Organization of breakfast and lunch distributionMonitor daily attendanceSupervises secretariesMonitors student and staff daily attendanceFacilitates student and staff end of program surveySupports and coordinates pre and post assessments that couple Summer Academies Program to the academic school yearMaintains positive relationships with parentsUpdates inventory and delivery of all program materials that go into storage in coordination with the Summer Academies District CoordinatorCoordinates student bus arrivals, transitions, and dismissalOversight of input and analysis of student academic dataEmergency point of contact for district administrationSupports scheduling of student end of program surveysSupports the coordination of pre and post-assessmentsMaintains proactive and positive relationships with parents Answers inquiries (in-person, via email or via phone) in a timely fashionAdhere to NYSPHSAA Heat Index Procedures for outdoor activities Heat Index for Cabinet ReviewPerform additional/related duties as assigned by the Summer Academies District Coordinator Supervisory Responsibilities: YesDates/Days/HoursProgram: July 8-August 15; Monday to Thursday and Friday, August 16 close outSalaryPreparation and Planning: $35/hour, not to exceed 30 hoursProgram: $8,640 stipend
