POSITION:ELL Coordinator - English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Teacher REQUIREMENTS:• Must possess or be eligible for New York State Certification in ESOL• Must submit resume and cover letter via OLASCOMMENTS:Must be a creative and passionate instructional leader who possesses the ability to motivate students tostrive for academic excellence. Collaborative team players that havethe desire to become part of a dynamic team are encouraged to apply.RESPONSIBILITIES:• Manages all District protocols related to the Identification Process for English Language Learnersas per New York State Commissioner’s Regulations Part 154• Collaborates with the Central Registration Office to properly place students in schools accordingto their selected program for language acquisition support• Monitors enrollment trends and student placement Districtwide to determine where seats areavailable• Meets with families throughout the day to hold orientation meetings to inform parents of theirrights and types of language acquisition programs offered in the District• Inputs and manages ELL student data to reflect mandated Units of Study and support accuracyin scheduling for students in Kindergarten through grade 12• Facilitates professional development around new NYSED initiatives regarding the identificationof English Language Learners, screening tools and updates• Provides one-on-one support to refine instructional practices• Complete understanding of NYSESLAT/NYSITELL levels of English• Experience administering Multilingual Literacy Screener (MLS)• Knowledge of supports for ELL Students with Interrupted Formal Education (SIFE)• Reviews student data to inform instruction and practices• Knowledge of ELL identification and placement process• Bilingual preferred• Additional teaching duties as assigned by supervisor
