The Elmsford Union Free School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated English as a New Language (ENL) Teacher to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year. This is an anticipated full-time position with a split assignment between Alice E. Grady Elementary School and Dixson Primary School. The successful candidate will provide high-quality instruction and support to our diverse population of English Language Learners (ELLs) in grades K-6.Responsibilities:Provide direct English language instruction to ELL students in individual, small group, and classroom settings, focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.Collaborate with general education teachers to differentiate instruction and integrate language development strategies into content area lessons.Develop and implement individualized language acquisition plans (LAPs) based on student needs and assessment data.Administer and interpret language proficiency assessments to identify student needs and monitor progress.Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding their child's language development.Participate in school-based team meetings, professional development opportunities, and curriculum development initiatives.Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that values the cultural and linguistic backgrounds of all students.Utilize a variety of research-based instructional strategies and resources to engage and motivate ELL students.Assist in the identification and referral process for students who may require additional support services.Maintain open and professional communication with administrators, colleagues, and support staff.Fulfill other duties as assigned by the building principals
