Alexander Hamilton Junior/Senior High School Elmsford Union Free School District The Elmsford Union Free School District is seeking a dedicated, high-energy, and NYS-certified Spanish Teacher to join the faculty at Alexander Hamilton Junior/Senior High School. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing world-class language instruction to students in grades 7 through 12, fostering both linguistic proficiency and cultural literacy. Key Responsibilities Instructional Delivery: Plan and deliver rigorous lessons aligned with the New York State Learning Standards for World Languages. Curriculum Development: Design engaging course materials for various levels, ranging from introductory 7th-grade Spanish to advanced high school courses (including potential AP or College-level offerings). Assessment: Utilize a variety of formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Classroom Management: Maintain a structured, positive, and productive learning environment that encourages student participation and discipline. Collaboration: Work closely with the World Languages department and school administration to enhance the district’s vertical alignment and student achievement. Professionalism: Participate in faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities. Qualifications & Requirements Certification: Valid New York State Certification in Spanish (Grades 7-12) is required. Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (Master’s degree preferred). Skills: Fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal); strong communication skills; and the ability to integrate educational technology into the classroom. Experience: Previous experience teaching at the secondary level is preferred but not required for exceptional candidates.
