Dixson Elementary School, serving our youngest learners in grades K-1, is a cornerstone of our district, focused on building a strong foundation for future academic success.Position Summary:The Elmsford Union Free School District is seeking a dynamic and visionary educational leader to serve as the Principal of Carl L. Dixson Elementary School. The successful candidate will be a passionate advocate for early childhood education, possess strong instructional leadership skills, and be committed to creating a collaborative and supportive school culture. The Principal will be responsible for providing leadership and direction in all aspects of school operations, ensuring a safe, engaging, and academically rigorous learning environment for our youngest students.Responsibilities:Instructional Leadership:Provide strong instructional leadership, focusing on best practices in early childhood education especially in the area of literacy. Lead the development and implementation of a rigorous and engaging curriculum aligned with state standards.Observe, evaluate, and support teachers in their instructional practices, providing constructive feedback and professional development opportunities.Analyze student data to inform instructional decisions and monitor student progress.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.Oversee the UPK program and CPSE to CSE processAdministrative Leadership and Operations:Manage school operations, including budget, facilities, and personnel.Ensure compliance with district policies and state regulations.Develop and implement effective communication strategies to keep stakeholders informed.Lead and facilitate school-based meetings and professional development sessions.Supervise and evaluate all school personnel.Establish and maintain a safe, orderly, and supportive environment for students and staff.Ensure that the school has effective emergency preparedness plans in place and that staff and students are trained to respond appropriately.Develop and implement operational plans that support the school's mission and goals.Community Engagement:Build strong partnerships with parents and community organizations.Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the school and the community.Write monthly newsletters and hold monthly events for parents.Represent the school at district and community events.Qualifications:Master’s degree in Educational Administration or a related field.Valid New York State School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS) or School Building Leader (SBL) certification.Minimum of five years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience, preferably
