The Elmsford Union Free School District is seeking a child-centered, dynamic & passionate educator to serve in the position of a Leave Replacement for a certified teacher of Special Education and TESOL at the middle/high school level. Essential Functions:- Thoughtfully centers equity in the daily learning experiences to support the students' awareness of identity, inclusivity, and social justice. - Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth; actively seeks professional learning opportunities.- Willing and able to work in a collaborative teaching environment, including consultant teaching and interdisciplinary planning.- Experience with social and emotional learning is preferred.- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual students' needs.- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.Certification/License:New York State Certification as a Special Education Teacher Grades 7 - 12 TESOL Certification preferredBilingual Spanish speaking candidates encouraged to apply.EUFSD contractual rate.
