The Elmsford Union Free School District is seeking a child-centered, dynamic & passionate educator to serve in the position of a Music and Band 7-12 certified full-time, tenure track teacher at the middle/high school level. The teacher would also be responsible for directing the school play (Drama)Essential Functions:- Familiar with NYS Music Standards and uses them for unit and lesson plan development.- Thoughtfully centers equity in the daily learning experiences to support the students' awareness of identity, inclusivity, and social justice. - Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth; actively seeks professional learning opportunities.- Willing and able to work in a collaborative teaching environment, including consultant teaching and interdisciplinary planning.- Experience with social and emotional learning is preferred.- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual students' needs.- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.Certification/License:New York State Certification as an Music Teacher Grades 7 - 12 and TESOL Certification.Bilingual Spanish speaking candidates encouraged to apply.EUFSD contractual rate.
