Number of Positions: 1Salary: $32,198 - $42,971 commensurate with experienceLocation: Washington County BOCESWork Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:00pmThe work involves the providing of entry-level technical assistance for help desk, computer, software and peripherals in school-district networked computing environments. The work of this title will be overseen by higher-ranking technology related personnel. Does related work as required.Configures desktop, laptop, tablet and handheld computing devices and inputs asset tagging information into inventory tracking system;Loads and updates computer software;Assists school-district personnel with the configuration and support of desktop, laptop, tablet and handheld computing devices on various operating systems;Assists with operation of help desk for all users of computers. Tracks technical service calls using help desk system;Assists in the preparation of specification for all computer hardware, and facilitates the ordering of software and/or hardware, as directed;Prepares related records or reports on Help Desk calls, inventory tracking and computer/network functionality as required;Assists in providing maintenance of the district's computer network;Assists with recommending the purchase of new and replacement components for computers and computer networks;Schedules and facilitates in-district vendor work, when necessary;Good working knowledge of operation systems application software packages;Good knowledge of a computer network system, working knowledge of operation, care and adjustment of a computer network;Good organizational skills;Good communication skills;Ability to work with others in a team environment;Ability to keep up with the changing technical field and physical condition commensurate with demands of the position.Minimum Qualifications:Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college with an Associate's Degree in Computer Technology, Data Processing, Computer Science; Electronic Technology or related field; ORGraduation from high school or possession of a GED with at least one year of experience in providing computer support and holding at least one related industry certification (including, but not limited to A+, Cisco or Google Certification); ORAn equivalent combination of training, experience and certifications as outlined by the limits of (A), and (B) above;Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.Apply on OLAS
