Number of Positions: 1Salary: $49,202-$69,480, commensurate with experienceWork Hours: M-F; 8:2:45Location: Southern Adirondack, Education Center, Hudson Falls, NYThe HVAC Instructor is responsible for teaching HVAC theory and hands-on skills to students enrolled in the Career and Technical Education program. The instructor will prepare students for employment in the HVAC field and for industry certification exams.Implement our comprehensive HVAC-R curriculum that aligns with industry standards;Provide theoretical and practical instruction in areas such as; HVAC systems, refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical systems, and control systems;Ensure students acquire the necessary knowledge and skills through classroom lectures, hands-on lab activities, and field experiences;Maintain an understanding of current practices and evolving technologies in the HVAC field;Evaluate and grade students' class work, labs, quizzes, exams, and practical skills exams;Track student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet varying abilities and learning styles;Prepare students for certification exams by reviewing materials and administering practice tests;Maintain accurate administrative records for attendance, grades, certification exam results, and other data;Participate in professional development activities to stay current in the field;Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, parents, advisory boards, and industry partners in the community;Implement BOCES policies, procedures and State Education Department mandates;Other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent;Must hold a valid NYS Career and Technical Education(CTE) certification in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration 7-12 or be eligible for this certificate based on relevant industry experience (4 years minimum or 2 years minimum with related degree).Must hold and maintain Section 608 Technician Certification.Diverse candidates are encourage to apply
