The Curriculum Coordinator is expected to provide instructional leadership across subject areas. Responsibilities include providing leadership in the development, articulation, and implementation of an instructional program; improving the instructional program by assisting with program evaluation; assisting in the hiring and development of BOCES Literacy facilitators; and assisting in the coordination of relevant staff development. Work is performed under the supervision of the Assistant Director for Professional Learning.Responsibilities:Essential responsibilities and functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following: Directs and supports a coordinated instructional program; Provides input for the literacy and teacher/leader development budget; Directs and supports the school improvement planning process, by systemic review and revision of curriculum in alignment with state/national standards; Directs and supports curriculum development and best practices by instructional staff; Serves as a member of the BOCES Curriculum and Assessment Council; Facilitates activities for CTE programs associated with the SED approval and re-approval process; Facilitates the implementation of the Literacy Program for the Exceptional Learners division; Serves as BOCES representative for the S/CDN initiative; Provides instructional support to BOCES teachers through a formative coaching process; Identify joint curriculum and development projects in collaboration with component school districts and BOCES instructional divisions; Provide curriculum support for the CTE and Exceptional Learners Divisions; Meet with component districts and BOCES leadership team members to establish goals and outcomes; Provide staff development, technical assistance, and facilitation of professional development activities; Monitor and report on progress and analyze reasons for variance in selected component districts and BOCES; Ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with established professional standards and protocols; Research local, state, and national trends and best practices in staff and curriculum development, assessment, data analysis, and school improvement planning, and integrate this information into professional development programs and support provided to component school personnel and BOCES; Develop strategies and instructional supports that will meet the present and future educational staff/curriculum development needs of the component school districts and the BOCES; Participate in faculty, team, school and district meetings; Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities; Support peer observation and learning between classrooms; Facilitate the development of curriculum and programs.Other responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to the following:Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds; Participate in appropriate professional activities;Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Must hold an appropriate NYS certificate (Administrative certification SAS or SBL);Experience providing professional development and presentations;Successful classroom teaching experience.Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:00pmLocation: F. Donald Myers Education Center, Saratoga Springs (some travel)
