The English Language Arts Instructor is expected to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in their assigned learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Work is performed under the supervision of the principal or other designated supervisor.Responsibilities:Plan appropriately for class presentation.Adapt methods and materials to meet students' individual needs and abilities.Orient students in regard to subject content, goals and objectives and teach them in a consistent manner.Present recommended course content in assigned classes.Evaluate and report on student progress at designated intervals according to established procedures.Maintain student attendance records in the prescribed manner.Be familiar with and operate under school policies, procedures and regulations.Supervise the care and use of classroom equipment and supplies and maintain proper inventory procedures.Maintain supervision necessary for general student safety and control.Participate in the development of curriculum and programs.Cooperate with professional and non-professional staff of this school district and other school districts in collaborative activities.Serve as case manager for assigned students.Qualifications: Must be NYS certified or certifiable in:English Language Arts 7-12 Location: F. Donald Myers Education Center, Saratoga Springs
