Variety Child Learning Center (VCLC) is a not-for-profit agency providing quality educational and therapeutic services to young children with disabilities. We are currently accepting applications for a full-time, Social Worker. We prefer a LCSW, however, we will consider an LMSW as well. This position will be based in our Levittown facility and is a benefit's eligible position.The Social Worker helps individuals, families and groups deal with and change behaviors, emotions, attitudes, relationships, and social conditions to restore and enhance their capacity to meet personal and social needs. A social worker is assigned to each family to help them understand their child’s disability and the effect on the family system. Social workers do work individually with children, parents, as a couple or in a group setting.Required Education:Master’s Degree in Social Work, current NYSED registration as either a LCSW or a LMSW, experience and knowledge working with children with complex physical and communication needs.Full Time: Monday-Friday 8:00am - 3:30pm. Our school operates 12 months/year.Starting salary, a minimum of $52,500.00. Additional compensation based on relevant experience.Additional Requirements: Must be a reliable, kind person who is willing to work with young children with disabilities (3-5 years old) in a classroom environment. This role is a physically demanding role. The employee is required to be non-sedentary. Security clearances required.
